Chairman & Director of Transaction Origination and Structuring

Herschell co-founded and serves as Chief Strategic Officer of BLOC Global Group. With offices in Birmingham, AL and Washington, D.C., the company manages and develops complex real estate and building projects; provides commercial real estate transaction, advisory, and investment services, and corporate real estate staff augmentation services. Through his leadership, Hamilton is responsible for guiding the strategic direction of the company, structuring business and project opportunities, and managing client engagements. He has led the organization to secure major roles in aviation, master development, mixed-use, and mixed-income projects.

He spent a decade as an investment banker, structuring public finance transactions with Raymond James Financial and Porter White and Company. He served in two high-level public administration posts with former Alabama Governor Jim Folsom, where he coordinated and advised State boards, authorities, and departments in the fiscally responsible issuance of approximately $500 million in bonded debt. He also worked as Chief Administrative Assistant to Birmingham Mayor Richard Arrington, Jr., serving as chief advisor on matters of finance, economic development, and capital projects, while negotiating and structuring the City’s participation in numerous public/private partnerships.

Bob is a Master Developer, LEED AP certified, and former Sr. Managing Director of Strategic Property Partners, Tampa, FL. He also served as Sr. Managing Director of Trammel Crow Company, responsible for the State of Florida.

Barry has over 40 years experience in real estate, construction, financing, and sales, having worked with Opus South Corporation for 27 years, and was the CFO when he left in 2009.  Barry transitioned to Cassidy Turley in 2013 and in July, 2014 he began working for Strategic Property Partners (SPP) on the Jeff Vinik downtown Tampa development. Barry retired from SPP in March 2018. In addition, Barry serves as Chief Financial Officer of various entities in which D&L Realty has invested, including Site Tech and Retail Property Advisors. Throughout his career, Barry has personally secured and negotiated over $1.6 billion in financing, and has been involved in over $900 million in sales.

Cathy has more than 25 years of experience as a chief financial officer in hospitals and medical centers, with medical office buildings and physician networks. She served as strategic financial planner for over 10 years for a regional real estate development, management and investment company, and has served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for a health care facilities investment company that developed, acquired and managed healthcare properties.  Her areas of specialization include business development, strategic planning, cash planning, financial modeling, hospital financial management and hospital payer / provider contract negotiation.

She has been responsible for preparation of annual operating budgets, long term financial plans, and cash planning for real estate development companies that have developed, managed or invested in over $260 million in projects. She also routinely provided financial projections to lenders for loan renewals and debt refinancing, as well as provided financial analysis and property and project projections.
